SNAG

Definition of Snag:

- an unexpected or hidden obstacle or drawback.

- a sharp, angular, or jagged projection.

- the name for a dead tree left upright to decompose naturally.

I heard yesterday that Roost Arcanum, which doesn’t fit exactly into a genre; was written by a misfit; is a story about a misfit…was rejected by Offbeat Festival…for not quite fitting.

Is life not very comic?

Funny how life reflects art reflects life …

As the card shark in the show says to grandfather ‘why so earnest, why so grim, why so solemn, why so stern?’  ‘ Playing cards is just like life it’s just a hoax; a flippant jest; a prank; a hoot.  Never forget it’s all about light heartedness’.

Am I weird? I'm thinking about this failure and finding it very funny.

I heard the other day about the various meanings of the word snag.

At first glance, rejection feels like a snag, a drawback, a downer, an awful thing.

At second or third glance...it turns into a snag, a dead tree. The thing about a dead tree is that it is a perfect home for wildlife...all sorts. It's a place to live; a food source; a lookout place for raptors; a hiding place and a soil refresher.

So my awful thing is suddenly filled with birds.

There's a big grin on my face now, too.
